What the antibody test shows and how to interpret it

To find out if the user has had the coronavirus or if they want to know if they have been infected at some point and have generated antibodies, the blood test is the ideal way to obtain all this information. The results and their interpretation can be:

IgM positive and IgG negative:  It may mean that the infection is very recent or that you are currently experiencing it. Given this situation, it is recommended to repeat the analysis fifteen days later to see if the patient has generated antibodies. 

IgM positive and IgG positive: It could mean that the infection is recent or the infection is currently happening and the person is making antibodies.

IgG negative and IgG positive: The person has generated antibodies to the coronavirus after passing the infection. It is researched that this is the ideal situation, since the user has generated antibodies that protect him from a new infection.

IgM negative and IgG negative: It means that the person has not had the virus or if they have had it, they have not generated antibodies.

How does the antibody test work?

The antibody test is obtained through a blood test and allows to know the amount of IgG and IgM antibodies that a patient has generated once the coronavirus infection has ended.

Prior preparation is needed to perform the antibody test?

No, it is not necessary to go to the center fasting or do any type of previous preparation.

How long does it take to get the results?
